XStream Software Acquires sofTV Streaming Media Technology
OTTAWA, Canada, August 26, 2004 - XStream Software Inc., a leading provider of advanced software technologies for E-Learning, Multimedia Content Authoring, Administration/Tracking, and Web-based Communication and Collaboration, today announced the acquisition of sofTV.net, a privately held Canadian corporation based in Ottawa.
Founded in 1998, sofTV.net is a leader and innovator in the field of online streaming media. Its unique software products allow users to create online streaming media presentations, e-learning modules, live conferences and broadcast content. The sofTV.net technology suite includes sofTV.Presenter (for creating online streaming media presentations with audio and video), sofTV.ShowAndTell (for capturing live PowerPoint presentations while simultaneously recording voice narration to produce recorded presentations with audio), sofTV.Author (a template-based design tool for creating web pages with embedded streaming video and audio), sofTV.Chat (allows users to participate in live text-based chat sessions while watching a web-based streaming video or audio presentation), and other supporting applications for enhancing and synchronizing multimedia streaming content.
